GlobeTrackr Map View
I love technology, but not as much as you, you see. But I still love technology. Always and forever. Always and forever...
It's amazing to me what a hack like myself can do with ninety minutes, an Internet connection and a bit of Javascript and PHP. Stuff like geo-coded mapping would have been painful at best even five years ago. Now I can just go to Google, get a mapping API key and start coding up useful and cool things.
If you haven't guessed, I added a map view for GlobeTrackr today. Maps are so much better for visualization than lists. You can really see how your traffic looks when you have a map.
Enjoy.

What I don't understand is why someone would not use Google Analytics instead? It shows your visitors in a map view, right?
So what does this offer that Google Analytics doesnt?

Good question.
GlobeTrackr isn't primarily designed to be a stats tracking service. It's primarily just for letting your site visitors see where your traffic comes from.
Analytics does much, much more than GlobeTrackr, but it doesn't allow you to place your stats information back on your site. So, if you need real stats tracking, use Analytics or something like it. If you want to show off your geo stats to your visitors, use GlobeTrackr. Or use both.
