Monday Movie Review on Tuesday
Today I have two movies. The first is still in theaters, the second just became available on DVD.
First, Monster House. This is a fun family movie about a house that is a monster (making the title particularly apt). I've seen a lot of Internet traffic about the quality of the animation of this movie. I'm not smart enough to discuss that. Basically for me it was a fun movie that I enjoyed more than I was expecting. It's got a good cast, a fun storyline and it's a good blend of kid fun and kid scary. My three year old wasn't bothered by the scary and my eight year old was entertained. It's a fun movie to see before the end of the summer break. 1.5π.
Second, The Benchwarmers. This is a movie that I wanted to see in the theater, but I missed it. It stars Rob Schneider, David Spade and Jon Heder. This is not a thinking person's movie. I loved it. There is a scene involving a lawn mower and a golf ball that made me laugh so hard I thought I would pass out. Also, if you grew up watching Knight Rider, you'll appreciate another segment involving KITT. I watched it last week and I've already put it back at the top of my Netflix.com queue. (Click here to add to your queue). It's stupid and just plain funny. 1.75π.
