Collectors
I have several friends that are huge toy collectors (the people themselves aren't huge, but their interest in collecting is huge, for the most part). They're mostly Star Wars toy collectors, but they do also follow the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc. Because of my interaction, I see a lot of collectibles and every once in a while I think I'll buy something. I haven't yet.
I was just looking at WickedCoolStuff.com and found some pretty cool stuff: Superman Returns
and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Or how about a Pirates of the Caribbean iPod Cover?
So, do you collect anything?

Me? Collect anything? (As my son just hands me a magnet and key chain from his couple days spent at Scout camp near Jackson Hole this week...)
Let's see: Trouble. Snoopy. Magnets. Key chains. Snoopy magnets and key chains. Stickers. Specific Hawai'ian items (Honu, Plumeria, key chains, Honu and Plumeria key chains, stickers and magnets). Beanie Babies.
That's just for starters. ;-)

Evidently I collect software. I have CD-ROMs and floppies from software I purchased 15 years ago. No, I never intend to reinstall Windows For Workgroups, Red Hat 5.0 or Quicken 3.0, but I have the software.
Throw it away, man!
Throw it away, man!
(Now I do have Turbo Tax 1996, just in case I need to turn in old tax returns... heh). Hey, you never know!

With or without husband's permission or knowledge, this last moved resulted in his collection finding file 13. How many Delphi betas can one possible need? LOL The greater dilemma was the number of homemade CDs with no labeling - too lazy to see what's on them and I figured if they've not been used in this long they could go too. Hope I don't regret that later!

I collect spinning wheels and miniture spinning wheels.
Also, kaleidoscopes - nice ones.... Right now I have 3 that are amazing hand made scopes and 10 or so that are nice, but not outstanding.
The huge box of buttons is not a collection - just a gathering.... No really, I am not collecting buttons. They just all seem to have found a place to live.

I collect lots of things, mostly nostalgia that reminds me what it was like to be a kid.
Like lunchboxes, for example. I have the same "Pigs in Space" thermos I had in 2nd grade and the same Gremlins lunchbox I had in 5th grade. I also have Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom, Dark Crystal, He-Man, Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Gorey and Return of the Jedi lunchboxes. And yes, I use them for my lunch on occasion (I just turned 30 yesterday if you were wondering. And chicks dig me so no smart comments).
I also collect toys, strange things-aliens, robots, bats, coffins, skulls, body parts (you know like Halloween candy and stuff from the musuem gift shop). Yes I'm a weird guy!
And, last but not least, I collect old records. I've almost rebuild the same collection my parents had when they were young, long-haired hippies and I was a little blonde trike riding kid with a bowl cut! Mostly psychedlic rock (Pink Floyd [RIP Syd], Hendrix, Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, the Stones, Bowie) funk (Funkadelic, Parliment, James Brown, WAR) and children's albums (Peter Pan, Jungle Book). I just got a iTTUSB, a turntable that you plug right into your PC USB port. Pretty frikkin' cool, man.
Come to think of it, I have collected some pretty cool stuff, at least I think so. I'm gonna unpack some of it. Thanks for the inspiration!

In the past, I have collected vinyl records, music magazines and comic books. I'm selling part of my rather large collection on my website (lots already sold but many still on offer now)...
