Catastrophic Failure of TV
Last night we watched the Suns v. Clippers and American Idol. What a disappointment on both fronts. The Suns provided a dismal performance and lost the second game of the series. Sadly, Idol provided no reprieve. Chris was sent home in what I think may be the strangest results night ever in the history of Idol. Fortunately for him, he'll have a career now and he won't be directly tied to Idol for the direction of that career.
I do have to mention Rebecca Romijn appearing on Idol last night. That was cool. When she requested a repeat performance of Jailhouse Rock from Taylor, everyone in our house cheered. That was a great performance (both times). Initially I thought Taylor and the show probably agreed to the request simply because Rebecca Romijn is beautiful. This morning, however, I realized that not only is she beautiful, but she is one of the few people in the history of the world who has survived a full set of adamantium blades to the torso. They may have acquiesced out of fear.
Just a thought.

Blake, did you notice how stunned EVERYONE was when Chris was sent packing? Katherine's mouth dropped wide open...and even her family looked stunned! I think evrybody in the studio that night thought she was done. Chris looked like he was reeling...even in the middle of his farewell song, he had a look of disbelief. I think Taylor wins...though I do pull for Elliot too. I may eat these words but...Katherine doesn't stand a chance next week. She used to be one of my faves on the show. but lately, I've noticed she adds a bit of that country 'whine" at the beginning of some lines...like it helps her "slide" into the pitch a bit. A little too much affectation for me. And BTW, nice seeing you at the recital. Take care.

One of the comments I heard later that spoke volumes about this was how usually the audience has an immediate vocal reaction to the news. This time there was nothing but silence and they say it lasted until the studio cleared.
I'm pulling for Taylor based on last week's performance - he just put the most into and really got my attention.

Hi! I'm not a geek, but I love my inet. Is that Geek? your 'stuff' is so animated, funny and just fun to read, that i became interested in and would love to her your view on family relationships, that is how to handle smart aleck sisters that think they are better thatn you, even though i went to college, she married. she follwed, i lead. now i am very sick -she cares only about her her her and now she's "above me" cuz "people look up to her in her community. not that that makes me w_t. I am a christian, but a cool one, if you understand so my descriptions and judgements may be seen as wrong, but but but i did say i want to know how to handle them, not how to keep judging them/ what do you say...care to tackle this to help me and many more out? she won't even apologize for accusing me of "rating" about something she later found out i did not even "rat" about. i asked her about5 it, she says oh that's old, i'm over it........her husband fooled around. well i'm not over her accusing me of telling our parents (and we are GROWN! which makes it sillier me-43 she -40) thathe fooled around when i didn't tell them and she got ticked really bad at me about what she 'thought' and now won't apologze! Maybe i should just "fool around" and get a new sister and forget it!
