Idol Wanderings
First of all, I think Ryan Seacrest misread yesterday's post (maybe he needs glasses). I said that I think he needs to apologize to Kat. I didn't think Simon needed to apologize, but it was rather nice.
So last night Idol provided us with the bottom two instead of the bottom three -- and Kellie was sent home. I was not the least bit surprised about any of it. Plus they let us know that Chris and Kat received the most votes. Again, no surprise there.
It was a surprisingly good results show, overall. Andrea Bocelli performed during the show. Let me say this: As a Gen-E guy whose understanding of the classics has been limited to Yanni and Zamfir, I was introduced to a whole new world of music. I'm going out to iTunes to see if I can buy some Andrea Bocelli songs as soon as possible.
You're probably more cultured than I, but if you've never heard of Andrea Bocelli as I had not, you should give his music a listen.

Andrea is awesome and I felt a twinge of regret knowing how little exposure I've had lately to the finer arts.
As for Kat and the apology, I think what Simon saw was that while her performance may not have been her best it was still good and none of them gave her any reason to think that. I thought it was the right move, but I think even more correct and in order is an apology for Seacrest being such a jerk. Of course that's just who he is so I'm not expecting much.
Personally, I was surprised to see that Paris had an edge on Kellie for elimination. As Paris has been in the bottom three a few times before and Kellie never has I thought Paris would go first. I guess you never know although I'd bet it was a small margin.
